PARIS AW12 Ricardo Tisci has turned Givenchy into a hot ticket – albeit this season in an icy cold venue, but still the A-list came. Not to see Audrey Hepburn’s favourite couturier but the modern rebel that Tisci has turned her into. Inspired by the provocative photography of Guy Bordin this was a bold, black, tailored collection of fetish, knee-high boots, leathers, velvets, silk embroidered laces, rhinestones, and tons of attitude. From the satin and lacing to the equestrian cape, the jodhpur shape pants luxuriously cut with his sharp edgy line. The femme fatale wore black shot with bullfighters red in slim silhouettes, the pant – quilted, skin tight, leather, or silk - her style statement for fall. From day to dark and through sludged, dirty shades, the gothic Givenchy girl mixed sugar and spice in a potent cocktail of Tisci’s bold subversive undercurrents and intent.
